Are any of you interested in supporting Tom's request below?  If so, please 
contact him ASAP to arrange a date and let me know as well.  If no one contacts 
Tom in the next week I will arrange to share with the kids.  This is a great 
opportunity for our Society to reach out to the community we support and excite 
the imagination of kids.

Mr. Hess,

I'm a volunteer coordinator of a Monday evening
program for children ages 5 to 9 at Shoreline Library.

The program consists of read-aloud stories and a visit
each week from interesting individuals in the
community. Those guests typically read a book to the
kids (though that's not mandatory) and then talk about
what they do (in their jobs, volunteer work, etc.) and
answer kids' questions. In the past, we've had police
chiefs and teachers and rockhounders and musicians and
veterinarians, etc. 

I believe the kids would be very interested in hearing
you, or perhaps another representative from GSAS, talk
about fish, starting an aquarium, about GSAS and the
aquarium community, etc. As I'm sure you know,
children are fascinated by the whole subject, and many
families consider starting an aquarium but don't know
how to get started. Anyway, I'd like to invite you
(or, again, another GSAS member) to be our guest at an
upcoming session. 

The program starts at 7pm on Monday evenings at the
Shoreline Library, and the time commitment is usually
45 minutes. I'm trying to book guests now for
September and part of October, and have openings on
9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 10/6, and 10/13. Please let me know
at your earliest convenience if this is something you
would consider doing, and if you have a preferred
night. If you want, you can call me at home anytime
(425 771 0663). If you do an email reply, however, and
you're willing to participate, it would be great if I
could get a phone number for you.
