Update

Today I checked out the Port of Seattle meeting facility. Very nice, and the price is right, but there are a few drawbacks; free parking is very limited, especially during the tourist season. We couldn't keep the cabinet there. If we eat there (snacks, etc.) we would have to pay an extra janitorial fee of about $140. We can forget this one for now.

Monday I will visit the SPU facility. It sounds the most promising to date.

Stopped in Chinatown on my way home from the port bldg. and "greased the ways" a little bit for auction donations by buying a plant for myself from Kings and four paradise fish for the Mount St Vincent tank from Liem. Every little bit helps.

Got a couple of other ideas from club members Tues. night; Center for Urban Horticulture ( near the U ), Greater Wash. Garden Club (need to find their website). I'll find out what I can about both.

Got a call from Don Bertelloti last night. He wants to donate "well over a dozen" tanks for the auction, ranging in size from 5 to 55 gallons, plus some other stuff - pumps, heaters etc. Depending on how much there actually is I may need some help in transporting it . I figure to pick it all up a few days before the auction and store it at my place until auction night. May take two trips to get it to the aquarium, depending on how well the tanks will nest up in my truck.
