Re: Ivars

Hi Bob:

Well, I don't think it was a big deal. The bill was taken care of at Ivar's and you reimbursed the club, as you caught the mistake right away.

Steev found Dactylogyrus sp. on my dead discus. Now I'm trying to figure out how to irradicate it. This is going to be difficult. The eggs are very hard to get rid of. I'm going to have to sterilize my planted tank!!!

Here's what happened at Ivars. At the end during all the stress and
confusion over the bill, I somehow inadvertently picked up some cash ($49)
that was on the table in front of me, thinking it was the money I had set
down there before I decided to use the credit card and hold onto my cash
for the auction. This left a discrepancy of $49 that Rick ended up paying
as he left a little later than the rest of us. Susan issued Rick a check to
cover his expenses. I was figuring that Ivars had made a mistake, it would
be our word against theirs, and we would probably have to bite the bullet
on this one.
During the auction I decided to count my cash reserves again in preparation
to bid on June's clown loaches and that's when I discovered the extra cash
which I immediately returned to Susan.
So, Ivars is happy, the club has suffered no loss, and I am sitting here
feeling extremely embarrassed, about two inches tall and very angry at
myself for allowing this senior moment to occur.
I am so sorry for the stress and inconvenience that this event has generated.
Lessons learned (hopefully) on my part,in regard to future "speaker dinners":
      Insist on separate checks
The president is the last one to leave
