The Tech Geek in me says....
Built-in AV: Definite Plus, just plug in any laptop. One doesn't need to
be quite as anal as I was about having the best possible projector, which
turned out to still display dark with the video for some reason.
Built-in Internet: Might be a way to let people pay for the
auctions by credit cards (PayPal).
Size: Smaller, weirder aspect ratio on the room for viewing a screen (Rick
probably had the hardest time off near the door). It's gonna be tight
when we get a popular speaker. So is the auction going to take place in
the hallway there?
The general GSAS geek in me says...
Parking: Yay!
Lack of Scary dark downtown waterfront atmosphere: Check!
Easy-lugging ability: I knew there were ramps, but didn't know where they
were. I think we need a better map on the website showing ramp detail --
could have used it.
Interesting places to go to eat before or after the meeting: Fremont!
I like the sandwich boards. We should paint "GSAS" and appropriate arrows
in large friendly letters, though.
Overall, quite cool. Haven't heard of anyone getting lost so far.
