Break's over

OK, summer break's over and time for me to get busy and try to rustle up 
some speakers for the coming year. So far we have just one confirmed, Jim 
Atchison on live food in October. Here's a list of Ideas that have been 
tossed around over the past year at board meetings, ideas gleaned from gsas 
email lists and a few off-the wall ideas of my own for you to look over, 
comment on or add to:
-I came across an old letter (2000) from an Alice Courtland at Marineland 
Aquarium Products regarding their "Aquaria Speakers Program". I called them 
Friday. She's not there anymore and the person who now runs this program, 
Dr. Tim Hovanec, was out for the day so I'll call him tomorrow and find out 
how this program works.
-Oliver Lucanus on collecting trip(s). Sort of a trevelog. Heard he has a 
great presentation.
-Anthony Calvo on a saltwater topic, possibly either saltwater basics or 
coral propagation. Sandu has been to one of his talks and was very 
impressed. Might be an opportunity to do some kind of joint venture with 
PSAS, the reef people.
-Steve MacDonald (Mac's Discus) on Discus.
-Steev Ward on prevention and treatment of diseases and parasites.
-Water chemistry. Been some email talk about this.
-Algae control. Some talk on this also.
-combination of the above two?
-Livebearers. I can't recall ever having a livebearer speaker.
-Anabantids other than bettas. Guess that makes it gouramis and paradise fish.
-Paludariums --"rain forest" tanks
-Barbs, other cyprinids (sharks, algae eaters).
-Catfish. been awhile since Lee Finley was here.
-Plants. Someone other than Karen Randall as I don't think
