Paul,

I will be at the October 12th meeting (barring some kind of emergency)
so we can make plans for an upcoming presentation. I look forward to
meeting Jim from the BugFarm. I am getting more into live foods now
that I have some space around the house to experiment. On a related
note, the outdoor projects from last month didn't get done as
planned...I ended up working in the fishroom as always. There is never
enough free time.

I'll see you at the meeting in a couple weeks.

Regards,

Michael Goumas

Hi Mike,

I hope you are doing well. I know the feeling of trying to get home
projects
finished up prior to the bad weather rolling in, I just spent the
weekend
working on one of my rental properties.

Wing at Super Pets is a great guy, very knowledgable about discus and
other
fish. I enjoy stopping in his store to chat and purchase. The best part
is
his store is only 1.5 miles from my house.

I spoke with Bob the president of our club www.GSAS.org , mostly
advanced
hobbyists who dedicate more time than we are willing to admit to our
tanks.
Our next meeting will be October 12th and we have Jim Atchison from the
bugfarm coming to speak about live food.

Bob was excited at the possibility yo might speak to us. He asked if
maybe
you could cook up a presentation on "breeding, selling and trading fish
to
local fish stores" an idea that most of us fishheads entertain at one
time
or another. Currenty we are seeking speakers for November 9th and
January
11th.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Paul Winchester

Dear Paul,

I want to thank you for telling me about Super Pets. Wing seems very
nice; I hope he enjoys the fish I delivered.

In regards to the meetings, I have a fear of speaking in public...but
sure, you only live once! I can give a presentation on building
central
filtration systems for fish rooms and maybe do some Q & A on Angelfish
production (my specialty in Chicago). I have a great deal of
experience
in retail and wholesale operations but seminars involving these topics
are better suited to people in the pet industry and wouldn't be
relevant
to most hobbyists.

I am glad you liked the fish at Super Pets. I just delivered there a
few days ago. I am sorry I could not sell the fish directly to you
but
I gave my word to the pet stores that I would not compete with them.
There is an exception for adults and pairs as most of my stores don't
carry them.

This weekend is bad for me as I have many projects around the farm
that
require my attention. I am trying to re-wire my well-house and add
outdoor lighting before winter gets here. I will try to make the next
meeting and we can discuss what you would like me to do for the
presentation at that time.

Good luck with the new fish.

Regards,

Michael Goumas

Hi Mike,

I wanted to let you know my fish are doing great. The Blue turq cross
pair
just spawned today :)

I purchased 10 of your fish from super Pets today, very nice.

I forwarded the info on the portland show in case you are interested,
unfrotunately I will be working on my rental and wont be going.

I was wondering if you would be interested in talking at one of our
club
meetings. We are looking for speakers to present topics, generally
they
are
60-90 minutes. Let me know if you might be interested, I imagine you
have
plenty of information and experiences on various aquarium related
topics.

Thanks again,
Paul Winchester

Hello Aquarium Enthusiasts,

This is just a quick reminder that the Greater Portland Aquarium Show
(sponsored by our sister-club in Portland - GPAS) is happening this
weekend.
Don't miss this annual event - it's definitely worth the drive!

Check out http://www.gpas.org/2004_show/gpas04.htm for details.

On the same website, you'll find a link to the Ramada Inn Portland
Airport
where the event is being held. If you want to call for reservations,
be
sure to ask for the special room rate for the Aquarium Show.

Hope to see you there!

Rick Rose, GSAS Promotions
