[GSAS-board] Fwd: RE: Possible speaking engagement?

Got this encouraging reply from John Lyons the livebearer guy. I will send him an affirmative reply ASAP. No reply yet from Dr. Kazianis, the other livebearer guy, but then it's only been a couple of days. Talked to Kelly at FG&P regarding Fish-o prize (10 gal. Eclipse). Definite yes on that. I just need to send her a fax detailing our request, and the prize will have to be picked up at the store. Nice.
Have a nice Thanksgiving!
Bob

Bob,

Looks like you have an active and interesting group, and yes, I would enjoy very much speaking to your society. Unfortunately, however, personal committments make it impossible for me to do so until next fall. I'm doing field work in Mexico in January, helping my mom sell her house and move in February, getting married in March, and selling my and my fiance's house and moving into a new house (that we still have to buy) in April. Then starts my field season here in Wisconsin (peak May-September) and possibly more field work in Mexico. So my schedule is impossible until about late September of next year. I realize that you had something in mind for much earlier than that, and I understand if you don't want to look that far ahead. But if you're still interested in a presentation around a year from now, I can talk on a variety of subjects related to collection and conservation of wild livebearers (and other species) from Mexico.

John

Hello Dr. Lyons.
My name is Bob Holmes. I'm the president of the Greater Seattle Aquarium
Society. Your name has been passed along to me by one of our members who is
also a member of the American Livebearer Association, as a possible guest
speaker at one of our future monthly meetings.

Would you be interested in coming out to Seattle to give a presentation on
a livebearer-related topic? All expenses would be on us, of course.

Thank you for your attention to this request.
Bob

P.S. If you would like to know a little more about us, you can check out
