RE: [GSAS-board] Plant Auction

I asked the board about that, and it sounds like it was a free society listing type ad deal that was inked many years ago. I didn't remember it being particularly large, though. Perhaps time to take a peek at a copy.

I noticed that the Aquatic Gardeners Association had a large ad in the
classified section. Does your organization have to pay the standard rate for
the ad? I wrote TFH a few months ago, and they never responded to my
question.

Subject: [GSAS-board] Plant Auction

Just wanted to check in and see what's going on for the plant auction.
Didn't notice any planning in the board meeting notes, other than getting
the commons area.

First, is there an expectation on who's going to organize it this year?

The main reason I ask is that, though I'm willing to help as always, there
is a minute but distinct possibility I might be unavailable if the
delivery is early...

The second reason is that we will still need to have a source for the
plants. Sam has been graciously ordering them from African Northwest for
many years, but he'd need to be asked reasonably in advance (Hi Sam!).

The third reason is that we'd need to get the computer situation worked
out in a more orderly manner this year, i.e., a little more committment on
laptops folks will bring (instead of everyone kinda bailing in the end
except for Paul), and a chance to try out some of the equipment, possibly
at next week's general meeting?
