Hi RickI wasn't figuring on any games and prizes for the kids, thinking that the swimming beach and other park facilities would be enough, but if someone wants to bring games and supervise them I'm sure that would be fine. Are you going to do some kind of RSVP request so that I can get an idea of how much meat, buns etc. to bring? Beef patties, Polish dogs, brats, chicken. There was some discussion on bringing precooked chicken from Costco as I remember. I'll need to know if we want that or the bags of frozen chicken that you grill.
We will also need charcoal and grilling tools. Bob At 10:55 PM 8/7/2005 -0700, you wrote:
Bob and the Board, Would you please review this email for accuracy? Also Bob, I'm not sure if you were planning on "Games and Prizes for the kids" so please let me know if that line should be left in or taken out. As the message says, the flyer that comes in the mail will have driving directions and more details. This is basically the same email that I used last year with the dates, names, and location changed. Also, Meredith had a great idea. When she went to the picnic site to scope it out, she stopped by Sierra fish and Pets and got her GSAS discount on her 1st cichlids. She checked and they will be open on August 20th. Her idea was to get a coupon or something so people will stop and say hello to them. The manager was there when she visited and clearly remembered what they donated to the auction. I think this would be a good way for us (GSAS) to "give back" to one of our sponsors. What kind of coupon did you have in mind, Meredith? Would it be like a "$1.00-off" funded by the club and good only that day, or what? Please get back to me ASAP with comments and ideas for the promotion. Thanks, Rick ____________________ The 2005 GSAS Summer Picnic will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 from 11:00am thru' 3:00pm at Picnic Area 'C' of the Luther Burbank Park located on the northeast end of Mercer Island.
