[GSAS-board] RE: Fish-O-the-Month Chair

Hi Monica,

Sure it's okay :) Free is much better than $$$. You did great!

The board assumed that they would sell them to the club (not an individual)
for the wholesale price, but an out-and-out donation is even better.

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

I went to African Northwest this afternoon. I called first (since the
website says you must) and got a long lecture about how they don't sell to
the public, only to stores, and they can't sell anything to me because they
don't want their store owning customers to get wind that they have sold to
an individual. They did however, aggree to donate $30 worth of plants for
the aquarium society which I picked out. I picked out some java fern,
rotala, wisteria, and some sword type plant (I forget the name, but I know
it will come to me..). Once I got there they were very nice, but explained
once again why they won't sell to individuals. I took Lori with me and we
got to look around the place on our own for a while. It was very
interesting. Just wanted to give you a heads up that they don't sell to the

public. I hope it was okay that I didn't purchase this but was given it as
a donation. The total value of the plants was $31. I thought that was very

generous. Thanks!

Monica
