Hi Bob,At the last board meeting, I offered to pick up Mike from the airport. However, a family matter, that requires our full attention, came up yesterday. I don't even know if I can make it to the meeting on Tuesday. I am truly sorry, but this is something that we can't put on hold. Hope everything will go well. Thank you.

I have reserved a room for Mike at the Ramada Airport hotel for the night of May 9. 13900 I'ntl. Blvd. 206-244-8800. I will email him with the details shortly. I most likely will be unable to make it to the dinner but should be able to make the meeting.BobX-Original-To: jbholmes@nwlink.com Delivered-To: jbholmes.nwlink.com@mx9.pacifier.net X-IronPort-AV: i="4.05,80,1146456000"; d="scan'208"; a="271217120:sNHT40508638" From: " Mike Hellweg" <mhellweg511@charter.net> To: "Bob and Judy Holmes" <jbholmes@nwlink.com> Subject: Re: May 9 Seattle visit Date: Tue, 2 May 2006 11:35:00 -0500 X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2869 Hi Bob,Sorry I haven't been able to get back with you, I was at the ALA convention and am only now able to sit down and go through email. The Anabantoid talk will be great. It's one of my favorites, too.I arrive at 11:22 am on 5/9, American Flight 1799 from St. Louis, and return at 5:18 pm on 5/10.I have yet to meet any food that I really don't like (except duck, for some reason), so anything would be fine with me. I do love seafood! I like to eat at local establishments instead of the big chains so I can get a flavor of the local area, if at all possible.I'm sorry to hear you won't make it. I was looking forward to meeting you.It looks like I've got an email from Kathy further down the list. I'll talk to you soon, Mike----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob and Judy Holmes" <jbholmes@nwlink.com>To: " Mike Hellweg" <mhellweg511@charter.net> Sent: Friday, April 28, 2006 11:58 AM Subject: Re: May 9 Seattle visitHi Mike. Glad you liked the pics. Sorry about the quality. The GSAS board met last night. They have chosen a topic for your talk: Anabantoids, fish that can drown. There is a computer and projector in the room where we meet. I'm not sure what your plans are yet, but as I mentioned before we like to treat our guest speakers to a nice dinner before the meeting. Any food preferences? We quite often go either to a popular Thai restaurant or to a seafood restaurant. It turns out that I have to be in a town 80 miles north of Seattle on May 9 to sign closing papers on a house we're buying there so I may not be able to connect up with you before the meeting, but someone will. Plans will be made once we know your itinerary.Kathy Olson asked about your plans while in Seattle. Did she contact you?Within the next couple of daysI will reserve you a room at a hotel with airport shuttle service unless you advise me otherwise.Bob At 10:56 AM 4/27/2006 -0500, you wrote:Hi Bob,My turn to be busy! Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. We had our club's annual workshop last weekend, and as the club president it had me busy all week last week and through last night, so I'm just now getting caught up on emails before I head out to the ALA convention. It looks like the flight I was planning on taking is now full. I'll have to run some other times/airlines and see what I can find. I'll let you know.Nice Clown Barbs! I don't usually see them with so much color. Definitely an under appreciated fish.I'll talk to you soon, Mike----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob and Judy Holmes" <jbholmes@nwlink.com>To: " Mike Hellweg" <mhellweg511@charter.net> Sent: Saturday, April 22, 2006 10:37 AM Subject: Re: May 9 Seattle visitGood morning Mike. Sorry about the delay. Things have been a bit hectic here. The direct flight on American sounds just fine. We will reserve a room foryou at a hotel near the airport. We will reimburse you for your flight expense at the meeting unless you would prefer some other arrangement. Here are the Clown Barb pictures... I'll send the Yellow Fin Barb in another email. I better lock pretty quickly. It looks like by the time all fees and stuff are added, all the flights going into Seattle on the 9th and returning to St. Louis on the 10th arearound the same price, so I'd like to go with American since it's anon-stop flight both ways. It looks like the total price will run about$336. Does that sound okay? The cheaper flights have long layovers and would only save about $20 afterall the fees, taxes, etc. Thanks, Mike----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob and Judy Holmes" <jbholmes@nwlink.com>To: <mhellweg511@charter.net> Sent: Wednesday, April 19, 2006 9:44 AM Subject: May 9 Seattle visitGood Morning Mike.Your visit is coming up pretty quickly so I think it's time to work outsome of the details. Usually what we do is reserve a room for ourvisiting speakers for the night of the meeting at one of the hotels near the airport that provides shuttle service to and from the airport, so if you can book your flight and send me your itinerary I'll see that thatgets done.If you have other plans or ideas for your Seattle visit, please let usknow if we can be of any assistance with information, etc.The talk topic hasn't been chosen yet. We'll let you know in plenty of time, probably within a day or so. Same with the barb pictures I told youI'd send. Looking forward to your visit. Talk to you soon.
