I talked with Jay Orr about a talk for the club and he's available late in the spring since he'll be in Japan most of the winter/early spring. Susan W. asked me if I thought there might be someone here where I work that could do a talk for the group. Jay is the taxonomist here at AFSC who describes new species and Susan and I thought this might be an interesting topic even though our focal ecosystem is Alaskan rather than tropical. Let me know if you want me to do anything more. Jay's contact address is James.Orr@noaa.gov. He had a couple suggestions for other local speakers that he said he'd dig up for me so when I hear from him, I'll send those on.
