Sorry for the confusion.  I do not have the tools to check member status so I 
cannot confirm if he is still a current member or just up for renewal soon.

If he is not a current member, and his check has not been received, I would 
like to propose giving him a year as a thanks for giving the next meeting.  
Otherwise we simply need to reduce the check amount.
