I just got a check and a note from Mary Moser. She is not in the database at all. She is complaining that she didn’t get a split at all last year which was supposed to be “$8 according to Meredith”. Was she ever a member? Perhaps she didn’t understand that you have to be one in order to sell at the auction?
Meredith, if you have a clearer recollection of this lady, perhaps you should call her. Her phone number is 206-417-5822. She mailed a check for $7 and is saying that she never got the split (how could I send it to her if I didn’t have a way to contact her?) When did she pay her dues, if at all? Did she write a check during auction time?
Rick: Could you please have lots of new member forms ready for the auction, and have people pay me separately for a membership BEFORE selling? It just gets too confusing just to tack it on at the end of the auction, then the person not have the new/renewal member forms filled out. The other ten forms you gave me I have at home and have been handing them out to people who stop by here for plants or shrimp off of Craig’s List. Could you also post an announcement to the GSAS members about the auction day and time, procedures etc soon? People have been wondering how to go about it, especially on this new day. I will put another add on Craig’s List. It wouldn’t hurt to have you do one as well.
And finally, can the computer operators be sure to give people their splits before they leave? It is not necessary for me to write and mail checks to everyone. Cash payment at check-out time is preferred by me and the sellers. Just be sure to mark it as paid in the database.
