Board Members attending: 
Rick Rose, Paul Wallace, Susan Welenofsky, Meredith Crichton
Observers:
Steve Ward, Shango Los
 
1) board elections next meeting
Paul Wallace is mid-term, MeredithC and Susan W are willing to re-up
one and 1/2 positions to fill (two year term and one year term)
possible candidates:  Phil Lacefield, Linda Knapp, Ezra, Larry Litten, Matt K, Matt S
Paul will contact and see if anyone is willing.
Per board memories of the bylaws:
it is OK for the President to appoint board members if one drops out.
If we can not round up 2 people, Steve is willing to serve again.
 
2) Committees
Board approved Florian as Librarian, he has a key from Meredith
Board approved Shango Los as Picnic Chair (go Shango!)
Board Approved Matt K as BAP chair for next year
Board approved Woody as Auction chair (hope that's what he really wanted)
 
3) Treasurer "doing better"
Insurance check was cashed
current $3351.16 after major fund raisers
conclusion: stay fiscally conservative 
Rumor that "Marineland" might help pay expenses for speakers: Paul will check.
Susan bought cool new checks with aquarium fish on them
GSAS paid Meredith for auction Pizza and Park 2007 rental
 
4) Passing the Torch: Rick is retiring as President due to long commute etc.
He brought the club "stuff" to distribute
Meredith: Cards, nametags, some signage, some paper
Susan: Business Card stock, CafePress stuff, extra shirts  (freebies and samples)
Susan also took 2 shirts to send to Kate the Artist
Shango: brochures for picnic, some paper
 
Paul W: fire safe , files and other stuff, membership cards
(Rick pulls them from the mailing list and puts them in Access and then prints them
GSAS mug given to Rick as small token of appreciation: you will be missed
(you will be missed less if you still come to general meetings)
 
Steve gave CD of newsletter to Meredith including Katarina's art work
for drawing contest
Address for State papers transferred to Meredith's address
 
5) HAPBAP awards: Prizes: Fish food via Steve, Gift certificates, GSAS mug
Paul will present at the June meeting
 
6) Kids drawing contest: so far only one from Katarina small prizes to be presented at the meeting
 
7) Extra shirt samples w and w/o artwork to be auctioned at meeting or sold at a set price: current price $5 per.  Susan will wheel and deal.
 
8) Fish of the Month: probably not for June but next year board would like to support LFS and buy from them (while telling them that we are to promote the club)
question : anybody seen Monica?
 
9) Picnic: Shango to take charge.  Fiscally moderate
Given past flyers from Rick, 
will get mailing labels from Steve
Club buys meat, buns, charcoal etc, then potluck
Florian probably has paper goods and plastic wear from last year
Meredith has tablecloths
Go Shango
 
10) June meeting : HAP/BAP awards, Kids art awards, Craft project, 
ice cream social (someone needs to tell Florian) and swap meet.
 
11) Jenny agreed to be the Art guru during the May meeting, 
no response yet about the June art project, Betty G is unavailable, 
Meredith will do if Jenny can't.
 
12) Next board meeting at Paul's House the Tuesday after the June meeting at 7pm subject to change.
