GSAS Board minutes 3/25/2008 at Christine Renneger's home (thanks for dinner) Present: Paul Wallace and family, Christine Renneger and family, Susan Welenofsky, Matt S., Steve Ward and Meredith Crichton 1) Treasurer's report : balance $2621.19 after our big speaker and before the main fundraiser, much joy expressed by board members. Susan pd our insurance aprox $300 prior to meeting. 2) General Auction. April 12, 2008. We have the large room at Weder hall 10-6pm Schedule: Setup starts at 10am, doors open at 11am, auction starts at noon Erik has the computer stuff under control. Christine is out of town so if we need her printer Paul is willing to come up with something. Phil has volunteered to auction. Paul will contact Diane Erikson regarding pick-up of wholesale solicitations(thank you Diane) Paul has also already been to Dennys and recieved great stuff. Paul is in contact with TFS in case the new friendly store might donate something Steve will contact A Place for Pets and Midway Meredith will solicit from the Sierra's Susan will contact Jim of Conway see updated solicitation form on previous message. Paul will send out the Auction checklist no one has heard from Woody who had previously volunteered Meredith and Susan are advertising on Craigslist, tell your friends, send messages to Portland, Vancouver etc add not to website 3)March Meeting great speaker, standing room only. Thanks for moving the tables. Paul will email MJC the address for the TY note for the plants, shall I send one to Luis too? Steve will email pics from the meeting: done 4) Home Show: Matt is setting up the tour, will start contacting specific people soon. (maybe we can set aside some of our donated stuff to be prizes: the gift certificates?) Matt and Steve will put out suggestions on how best to show your tank in the next newsletter or at least what not to do. 5) Magazine: Matt has sent off the info. Didn't make the last issue but maybe next month. 6) not discussed but interesting: Paul's interview with the reporter went well and the article was interesting and mentioned us several times. 7) Schedule: May: Steve from the Wet Spot will be talking about something and there is a possibility of placing an order with the Wet Spot to be delivered with the speaker to the next meeting. Paul will contact Steve regarding details. June: Home show , Ice Cream Social, Swap Meet, Board elections August: Shango is dealing with the whole sha-bang.
