Minor correction: Florida Aquatic Nurseries did not donate the plants,
just ADG and Luis himself. They happen to BE FAN plants, but were ones
bought by ADG.

Message from the President:
I hope everyone enjoyed our March meeting, on plants, by Luis Navarro.
I am always impressed by how much can be done with just a few plants and
an asymmetric design. Hopefully some of the rare donations from Luis,
Aquarium Design Group (www.aquariumdesigngroup.com) and Florida Aquatic
Nurseries will take root and be shared. My tanks have regressed to a
âglass menagerieâ status, I, for one, will now be moving forward and
scaling back from ârampant collectorâ status to a more stable and
pacific âgreenâ planted tank style soon. You can expect a huge crop to
show up at the April Auctionâ
Our April Auction is right around the corner on SATURDAY April 12th.
If you can help set up, please stop by (starting at 10 am). If you a
selling a large number of items or heavy tanks please check in at 11 am
or sooner. Directions to the loading ramp are in the announcement
below. The auction starts at noon and goes until everything has a new
home.
Finally, thanks to the efforts of Larry and Susan our club is literally
swimming in the inexpensive black substrate sold as Soil Master Select
or Turface. This cheap, black substrate is great in âfish tanks, with
plantsâ such as my large clown barbs featured a little latter in this
issue. I also included a few tips learned from working with Fluorite to
make a substrate swap easier.
