What kind of Octopus is it? I think it would be cool to have one, but is 1 year about their only lifespan? Are we meeting tomorrow night at 6PM for our speaker dinner on us? I think we could spring for your fiancés dinner as well, since we have done that in the past and don't have to pay airfare or hotel. A baby octopus isn't something just anyone can handle or would want to win. Should we consider using it as a auction item so it gives the club some value and goes to someone who is actually motivated about having it. No real agreement was made, he just said he'd donate those items - we don't HAVE to give them away. Also, he isn't shipping the stuff to me today to give out tomorrow night - this is a "send it when you need it" kind of thing, so you won't be stuck with a bag full of dwarf octopus and need to get a salt tank set up in a hurry! :-) That way, if someone wins it who doesn't have a salt tank set up but wants to do so, they'll have time to get things ready and then contact Dad to have it shipped. If someone wins it who really doesn't want to get into salts, they can always throw it back into the auction as a split; that way they get something, the club gets something, and someone gets a dwarf octopus who wants it!
