As in NEXT TUESDAY the 17th? Yowzers. Will ask the boss. On Fri, 13 Mar 2009, Paul Wallace wrote:
Dear Eric: Our next board meeting is Tuesday the 17th at Margie's house near the Husky Stadium. I think we have enough server based issues to benefit from a quick run down. Would you be able to join us? So membership is a many faceted thing with Steev as newsletter (generate list of addresses for active users), myself as prez (with periodic purge (not actually that many to purge)) and membership to handle payment and new users. It looks like Phil will also be bulking up the 'stores' with email for donors so that they see the newsletter. So on Tuesday lets clearly identify the new membership chair and make sure mail address, DB access, membership cards, and paypal all work. I would like to thank Susan for all that she has done as membership with her was always prompt and seamless. -Paul On Fri, 13 Mar 2009, Erik Olson wrote:Guys, when the smoke clears, let me know what the address should be to mail membership forms to, and I will update the website accordingly. Iâm concerned that the members donât know who to renew with. There are people that like to mail their checks instead of PayPal, like the one I got yesterday for my OLD address. Then thereâs the problem that they donât know who to renew with at meetingsif they missed the announcement. ÂIâm just wondering why no one bothered to tell me at the last board meeting, especially Christine, when she was clearly exacerbated when I was trying to make sure she understood everything. That would have been the time to tell me that I needed to make sure you knew how todo it as well, but no one said anything!  Susan  -----Original Message----- From: Margaret Cashman [mailto:drmcashman@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, March 13, 2009 1:26 PM To: Susan Welenofsky Subject: Re: [GSAS-board] Membership changes  Dear Susan,  Yikes! Don't do anything rash.  Here is how I recall events:I'd mumbled something about feeling like I really don't do that much yet on the Board, and Paul asked, why don't you be the membership chair. I said, OK. I need to be taught what to do, such as how to access the database, etc. I didn't hear anything more. Then right before the plant auction, I got an e-mail listing the expired members -- this was cc'd to Christina. I e-mailed Erik and asked to get access to the database and he worked that out. And I've had one guy e-mail me that he had renewed but hadn't gotten a card yet. I told him via e-mail that I was still trying to get the cards, etc. but that he was in the database as paid so everything appearedcopacetic. I just received the cards at last Tuesday's meeting. It's all been pretty disorganized. ÂChristina did not generate this "Why don't you do membership?" thing, Paul did. And I am not sure if this was thought out as well as it might. I will be happy to not do membership or to do membership, it does not really matter to me. I was just feeling I should do something concrete to help out the club. I'm not highly interested in getting PayPal access, since I have yet to get PayPal to work for me personally so I suspect I'd have a high risk of screwing up the club'sfinances. ÂDoes this explain anything? So you can understand that none of this should in any way be takenpersonally?  Cordially -- really --  Margie C.On Fri, Mar 13, 2009 at 11:48 AM, Susan Welenofsky <welenofsky@comcast.net> wrote:Well, itâs really redundant to enter info in twice. The membership person is supposed to have access to the database, so all you need is the personâs name if they have been entered into the system and Iâve already done that. It would have been nice if Paul informed me at the last meeting who is going to do membership now. I guess I was schooling the wrong person. You might as well take over the PayPal system, that way you can check and make sure address is correct on the PayPal site vs. Christine repeating all that in an email. Iâm assuming that Christine doesnât want to have anything to do with my offer to help out with membership when she is absentand would rather work with you which is fine.  I might as well drop off the board altogether.  Susan  -----Original Message----- From: Margaret Cashman [mailto:drmcashman@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, March 13, 2009 10:45 AM To: Welenofsky, Susan Cc: Paul Wallace Subject: Membership changes  Dear Susan,Paul asked me to take on membership chair at the board meeting before last. What I've worked out so far with Christina is to have her remain the PayPal czar but for her to send me an e-mail with the address, name, date info so I'll update the membership database and send the person the membership card. In other words, it's an experiment in off-loading one of the treasurer's 10,000 chores. I would also take on issuing reminders and that sort of thing. So, would you send me theinfo? Thanks.
