It's been years since I saw proposed legislature that made me this angry. It makes about as much sense as banning red cars until an expensive Federal study proves that they are not more dangerous than other cars.

There is one WA legislator on the committee. I used the form on his web site to contact him (as a fellow Washingtonian) and was told to get lost, because I am not in his district. I wonder what the best way is to fight the bill? The committee members don't seem to be interested in your opinion if you aren't in their district, which is crazy since they are making nation-wide laws.

I'm going to fax a letter to the committee members offices anyway.

I am receiving a lot of notes about HR 669 which I have not followed up.
The UW is cracking down on Lobbying from UW resources so I will post the
following as FYI:

Ideally every member should be notified and hopefully anyone they know.

Do you think you can look into put something on the site about this?

Hearing is on on April 23. We need to act now. Sending email is easy, let
them know. Take the time, show your support, make your voice heard to
protect our hobby

 * Emailing or faxing your opposition to HR 669 to their offices in
   Washington DC urging them to amend the bill
 * ALSO contact their district offices

     * Voice your opposition
     * Request a meeting with the representative when they are back
       in the District

Signup you are need.  Let your friends, family know and anyone who keeps
birds, reptiles, fishes and a number of mammals (e.g., hamsters, gerbils,
guinea pigs, ferrets). Everyone is talking about the latter but it will also
include all plants, insects  and other living creatures.
