It helps to aerate the water even with one's hand if need be on the way
home. I'm not sure if lack of O2 is what killed the loach, but I had a bunch
of huge Africans from Bainbridge that were dying on the ferry ride home. I
used my hand to keep enough O2 in the water of all the buckets and they all
made it. One fish was about 3 lbs.

He made it thru the auction, but died in transit to somewhere south of
Tacoma.  Poor thing, he was awesome.
