Not on the board, but I am available to drive and/or videotape and/or
photograph the weekend of the 30/31 (though I would prefer someone else to
do primary photography if I videotape). I also have a GPS we could plug
the addresses into to help navigate. Not to try and influence you on the
date or anything... :)

It's pretty straightforward...from what I remember...
1. Contact all those interested in entering, find out what weekends + time
they can be home. Get phone numbers so you can call them on the day of
the event.
1a. Con(tact) judges, driver(s), photographer(s), videographer, and find
out what weekends they can be available. Steev and Clay Hess, and Dave
Sanford are very good judges & have done more home shows than I have.
But there are also many new members who I am sure would do a great job.
Lots of members are budding photographers and would probably relish the
opportunity to test their skills on other tanks than their own.
2. See if all can be done one day, or maybe as two (12 stops is actually
enough to consider doing as two days). Devise driving plan. Figure out
how to get the judge/photo crew together (meet at first house? pick up en
route? etc)
3. On the day of the event, execute the plan. Make lunch and possibly
dinner stops as needed. Judges take notes. I have some ancient scoring
criteria for *fish* I can e-mail you -- though if aquascapes are to be
judged, that's a different call (maybe the AGA Contest guidelines would
help
http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2008.cgi?&op=showpage&name=guidelines-judging
in that case). At the end of the last day, judges confer and decide on
the awards.
3a. unusual videographer & photographer gear: include black cloth to block
out room light.
4. If videographer can be conned into editing in time, show the video at
the meeting while you and the judges talk over it about the fish, tanks
and people. Otherwse, just show pictures. Present awards. Eat ice
cream.
