Thank you Shango,
I am so used to having to over recruit to get enough of anything I am always supprised when the GSAS event end up with too many people asking to help! Let me know were I can be of service. Is Roy moderating? I would be happy to do it but I gave up on shrimp a long time ago before the cuttle bone trick.

I am sure you are correct about Susan and Ken. However, at this point, I think we have everything covered and adding a fourth would be superfluous.
If I would have gotten different direction from the Board earlier, I would have been happy to adapt. At this point, Susan has already graciously stepped aside and I asked about Ken but was redirected to Cliff who is a solid choice. Jimmy, Cliff and I have connected and done the division of labor already.
If the Board wants to pursue using Ken, just let me know by the end of the day Monday the 2nd and he can take my place. Otherwise, I will continue with the direction I was given last week and have been working with.

Dear Shango,
I think that Ken (xgulo@yahoo.com) or Susan would also do quite well. I talked to Ken about the introduction when he picked up the metal tank stand and I got a “ok, but I am no expert” and Susan sure knows a thing about setting up a planted tank. Please let me know if I need to follow up.
I would like to see fish-o-month restart with shrimp from Jimmy. Roy, do you have a feeling what jimmy has and what we would need to spend?
I will bring two 5 gal tanks to set up. Are they auction material?

do you want Thai food or something else? and any more thoughts on "fish of the month" possibilities? what about a club-purchased gift certificate for Jimmy's store? $20? maybe as a second door prize m

Dear Board Members,
If you would confirm for me that the folks on the Shrimp Panel are Jimmy Lo, Cliff Miller and myself, I will pick up the coordination between us regarding who is talking about what. I very much have a vested interest now and feel the motivation to get everybody in line so we have a successful event. Again, I am coordinating content only...based loosely on Paul suggested outline below that we all seemed to like.

I have a windfall of a couple of minutes here and would like to put my ideas of for comments. Please feel free to disagree or comment;
· I see 4 speakers (KEN, Shango, Jimmy, and ?)
· Each speaker has a 5-10 slide talk to introduce a topic
§ Requirements (temp, pH, hardness, min tank size…)
o Setting up a shrimp tank (Shango of ?)
§ Picture of a shrimp tank that shows relevant parts like substrate, role of cover, airstone?
o Personal observations (Shango of ?)
§ Someone that likes to take pictures and can share a few “special moments”
o Common Shrimp types (Jimmy)
§ Ie these are the shrimp Jimmy brought.
· 3 mics in total with one for the Mod, One for the speakers, and one for Q’s.
In thinking how I can contribute, I have a pair of 5.5 gal tanks taking up space for a project I will likely never do. I could bring a tank, light, plants, and substrate to the meeting and set them up with aged water. The tanks could sit on the speaker table and serve as a reference. I would also like to have live shrimp in them to give an example. Afterwards the tank and all could go into a door prize or auction or the shrimp could be sold out separately.. I would like to restart the “fish of the month” program with $30-50 in shrimp to Jimmy but I also appreciate Shango’s comments on common vs. odd shrimp and the price gap of commercial vs. hobby. I can pull (and attribute) shrimp pictures to project behind Jimmy if he would like. I am but one vote on the board though. So what do you think?

I dont really have anything to say unfortunately. I don't pay much attention to my tank chemistry. I just get really lucky because shrimp love all the moss I have and go nuts. That and I discovered cuttlefish bone. That is the extent of what I have to share. If I had any expertise, I'd be glad to share but alas I just ignore them and they populate.
