I personally love Bee shrimp. I did see them one in Renton for
99c. I would bid on them or take them home as a door prize. Dinner
traditionally starts at 6 to give enough time to eat and go.

I think the fish of the month gives some focus to the
auction plus can constantly engage the membership in species they may not have
considered. It seems shrimp would be a great choice for this month's Fish
Of The Month.
I let Jimmy know someone other than I would be contacting
him regarding a bulk shrimp purchase. In case you don't have it, his

and 206-227-6752. I suggest Amanos, Tigers, Orange and Bee, assuming
we will have folks bringing Cherries from within the club. They won't
reproduce in the tanks likely but they sure will get people excited.
As far as a second door prize, I am donating 6 pieces of
Cuttlefish Bone that you could use for that if you wish. I suggest them
being given/raffled in lots of 2.

In thinking how I can contribute, I have a pair of 5.5 gal tanks
taking up space for a project I will likely never do. I could bring
a tank, light, plants, and substrate to the meeting and set them up with
aged water. The tanks could sit on the speaker table and serve as a
reference. I would also like to have live shrimp in them to give an
example. Afterwards the tank and all could go into a door prize or
auction or the shrimp could be sold out separately.. I would like
to restart the “fish of the month” program with $30-50 in shrimp to Jimmy but I
also appreciate Shango’s comments on common vs. odd shrimp and the price gap of
commercial vs. hobby. I can pull (and attribute) shrimp pictures to
project behind Jimmy if he would like. I am but one vote on
the board though. So what do you think?

I dont really have anything to say unfortunately. I
don't pay much attention to my tank chemistry. I just get really lucky
because shrimp love all the moss I have and go nuts. That and I
discovered cuttlefish bone. That is the extent of what I have to share.
If I had any expertise, I'd be glad to share but alas I just ignore them
and they populate.
