Re: [GSAS-board] Aquarium club talk; GSAS Home Show 2010

Hi Kathy et al,

In the last board meeting, we discussed doing the Home Show visits earlier
this year. That way the Home Show Presentation could be used any month we
needed it. I agree the Home Show is great, but I don't think it can be
stretched into a 1 1/2 hour program. Last June we did the Home Show in
conjunction with the Horticulture Awards Program Presentation / Awards; Club
Board / Committee Chair Elections; and the Ice Cream Social.

I was doing some planning on the Home Show earlier last week. The 2010
Super Bowl is Sunday 2/7/10 and Valentine's Day is Sunday 2/14/10. The Home
Show visits would have to be in January or the weekends of 2/20 - 2/21 or
2/27 - 2/28 in February. The March GSAS meeting is 3/9/2010 which doesn't
leave a lot of time to assemble the pictures, do the voting and put together
the video and presentation.

As for talks, if we have Jen come down from Vancouver for a talk on cichlids
in January, another talk by Jeff (our new member) on cichlids later in the
spring seems excessive to me.

I am glad we are discussing the spring agenda now; it gives us some time to
work things out.

Roy

Hi Paul,

Home show is pretty cool. We really don't have any chance to see each
others tanks and appreciate what everyone is doing. I think this would be
a great meeting topic all alone. It is really fun to see the details
about what everyone is doing. Designs. Fish rooms. Etc....

What do you think of making that the whole meeting topic in March.

After the presentation then open it up for everyone to talk??

Kathy
