EEEK! On the three nights.I asked for clarification earlier this year, and was told the club paid for one night, transportation and a dinner before the meeting (two nights if transportation was tricky with east coast flights)
(I think there was one case ages ago that the difference for a speaker from the east coast was $300 or $400 dollars if they came on the weekend or not, but then they stayed with us).
You might want to clarify on the night thing, or just decide lesson learned and clarify with speakers BEFORE booking them. But that really isn't fair to the club. Most speakers know that clubs are on shoestring budgets and don't have that kind of money.
Yuk, having to deal with it.I guess we should have a list of ALL the things to clarify before each of us talks to a speaker to avoid confusion. It isn't vacation on GSAS after all.
ie...the club usually pays for dinner the night of meeting, transportation and one night hotel. Do you have other needs/expectations?
She may not expect us to pay for 3 nights anyways, has anyone asked? Or at least said what the club will do or wont do?

Thanks! The ticket for her on the train is $89 (round trip?) and she will be staying 3 nights. So we can either book the room or write out a check. My sis was just fine with it, thought it would give them lots of options and independence from a driver. If someone can host them that is awesome. I briefly considered it, but we have company coming in 2 days after the meeting and I have to pace myself. Kathy -- Kathy "Perhaps wisdom is simply waiting, and healing a question oftime.
