Hi Erik, Just wanted to say that I like the changes I am seeing on the GSAS.ORG main web page. It is looking much "cleaner" and is easier to find things like the calendar and HAP / BAP programs. Also thank you for cleaning up those dead links at the bottom of the page such as the Pacific NW Livebearers, Pacific NW Betta, and the Washington Guppy Club. The link to the torrents directory works just fine and now members can see the extensive library of videos that we offer. (BTW it is impressive!) Thank you for all your hard work on behalf of the club. Website changes. After the board approved my proposal, I have made a couple more minor tweaks, and plan to flip to the new GSAS front page when Steev mails out the next newsletter. For now, you can still view the concealed page at http://www.gsas.org/index-test.html To access the private pages, the username is (right now) gsas-member and the password is wombat (lower-case). 2. Mailing list upgrade I installed Sympa, and set up a prototype mailing list with Shango, Paul and Roy, because they were pretty representative of the different e-mailing types we've been getting. They've been bombarding the fake list with pictures and all sort of other goodies. They seem to like it too. While this has been going on, I've been doing all the research (plus a fair share of script tweaking) so that I can migrate the old mailman user base to new system, and also recreate the archives (which go back 12 years!). Finally, a bit of a trivial side-benefit of going to Sympa. The new lists will be in the gsas.org domain instead of thekrib.com. I was thinking "memberchat@gsas.org" or "discussion@gsas.org", and "board@gsas.org". If someone has a more decent name for the list (or thinks we should stick with gsas-member@gsas.org), please let me know. In any case, mail sent to gsas-member@thekrib.com will forward to the new list for some time. Once I locate all the original e-mail archives going back to 1998, I'll take the system offline for an hour some evening and it will magically come back to life. - Erik -- Erik Olson Sent from my crusty old Linux box _______________________________________________ GSAS-board mailing list GSAS-board@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-board _______________________________________________ GSAS-board mailing list GSAS-board@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-board
