Thanks for the info. and the link, it explained a lot!  I should really 
go out and get a book - maybe for Christmas.

The tank is a 44 gal. corner-pentagram shape, a lot taller than wide.  
Eight rasboras (espie?) would be the main predation problem.

I've got quite a jungle of java fern that I need to get under control.  
The panda cories have used that to increase their pack from four to 
eight with one odd surviving fry at a time.

I'm tempted to evict the residents of my 20 gal.-high tank, and move the 
angels and the potted plant with the eggs in there.  I can't imagine a 
dwarf gourami and some harlequin rasboras replacing the look of the 
angels in the big tank, though...

It's really tempting to artificially raise the fry in my empty 5 gallon 
tank (as I did with some albino cories last year), or to let the parents 
raise them in the 20 gallon.  I think I just don't have the time for 
either though.

I'm going to just let the angels try their luck with the java fern for 
cover.  I think I saw them spawn and eat their own eggs about nine 
months ago.  Maybe they have matured and will give me a few more chances 
to raise some babies.
