I have collected and kept many N.A. native fish over the years, killies, 
livebearers, sunfish, darters, cichlids.  I think the club will find the 
talk very interesting and questions about temperature and feeding should be 
raised. My own experience was that unheated tanks did great for me year 
round in my basement in NJ where the temps would range from 65 to 85, plus 
that the fish could be readily conviced to eat flaked food but much prefer 
live food. THey also do fine kept in outdoor ponds.

Washington state has a particularly attractive fish, the Olympic mudminnow, 
which is very popular among the native fish hobbyists.
