Re: [GSAS-Member] Blue-Green Algae: Recap

Jesse:

For what it is worth, My first batch was brand X from the Fish Store in pill form which worked great (ie nuke the tank, wait until gone, reseed with dirty filter from other tank). When I ran out I got the more conventional Maracyn. The new packets are annoying and take many more to do the job. YMMV

So, before I blacked out the tank I gave everything a good scrub and water change, cleaned all the filters, and vacuumed the gravel. Then I added a secondary HOB filter for better water flow and turned up the air-stone in the sponge filter.

So, I think now it's finally time for a dose of antibiotics. Can anybody recommend a source? I suppose I could just order from the pharmacy online that supplies all the Viagra... but somewhere local would be better.
