You know what'd be a cool thing to do with Lucky Bamboo? Plant it in a vivarium with frogs OR - better yet! - mudskippers!
I've been mildly obsessed with mudskippers ever since I saw some for sale at the LFS in Burien. (Apologies for not remembering the name any more specifically than "X and Y Tropical Fish, where X and Y = other letters which I can't recall at the moment.") Unfortunately, I simply don't have the space (more pertinently, I don't have the electrical outlets) to add another aquarium.
But I must say, everyone else should get mudskippers!Sorry for the topic shift. I should really have a second cup of coffee before I start replying to email. :)
(For more information on mudskippers, consult your local library, or any number of mudskipper websites such as http://members.ozemail.com.au/~thebobo/mud.htm)

Here's an idea. I wonder if the "lucky bamboo" that many places are selling would grow (or at least live) under water. It grows fine in a vase filled with water but the tops with leaves are in the air. It might be worth a try to see how long it lasts, I assume that bright light would be required. What do you think? dave
