It is a damselfly nymph. It probably arrived with live plants. They will eat small fry. I doubt it would attack adult fish. There probably won't be more of them. The adult is an air-borne insect that looks just like a small dragonfly. Can anyone identify this creepy-crawly which I just pulled out of my tank? http://fisherking.org/tankmonster1.jpg Here's a blurry picture of the tank monster next to a penny, for size perspective: http://fisherking.org/tankmonster2.jpg Is it dangerous? Where could it possibly have come from? Will there be more of them? Could this be the reason why one of my rainbowfish appears to have a bruise on its flank? Do fish even GET bruises? ICKY!!! - Erika
