It's easy to transfer hydra, leeches, snails, worms, etc., on plants, but I think the chances of transmitting most fish pathogens that way are pretty low, and get lower every day the plants are away from fish. The plants get blamed quite frequently when we can't come up with any better ideas. Still, if you want to be especially cautious you could keep the plants in a tank free of fish (even if the lighting isn't great) for a week, since almost no parasite can go that long without a host. Rinsing the plants off with clean water actually does a great deal of good. On the other hand: I've got plants I don't want to bring in because of the algae. Steev
