Hi Michelle,I would echo everything that June said about 'Snubber's Fish'. Anyone in our area (Tacoma) that is interested in fish owes it to themselves to meet Nick and experience his shop. Nick would be the first one to say that it's not your "typical" shop - i.e. don't go expecting to see extravigant displays with spotless shelves and clear aisles. It's more like a "warehouse" with equipment (both new and used) in piles that encroach onto the walkway. Nick is one of our GSAS Sponsors and he will treat you right. Rather than offering a standing x% discount to GSAS members, he prefers to "wheel-and-deal" AND he takes fish and sometimes plants in on trade. Also, if you're looking for a supplier for live, adult brine shrimp, he is it for Tacoma (as far as I know). He receives his delivery on Tuesdays (right about now, actually). If you decide to go, you should call first as he is often called upon by his "other job", as he puts it.
Also, I found another LFS last week on Pacific Avenue. I don't think its the one that June refers to here, because it has a different name. It is called 'Tropical Fish Imports'. I don't have the exact address, but if you drive what is in my mind, North, on Pacific Avenue from, say, 72nd street, you should see it on your right. They have a LOT of tanks and I did see some cories there. Their prices for consumables were extremely HIGH, but I think their live-fish prices were reasonable.
If you go to either place, let me know what you think. Rick (in Lakewood)

I live in Tacoma. I'm not sure what you are looking for exists in Tacoma. Aquarium Paradisein Lakewood Towne center or Pac Ave Pets on Pacific Ave in Spanaway area are about the only other private shops left. One of them may be willing to orderfor you. Snubber's occasionally gets some really interesting stuff on tradefrom other customers. Don't know if he does individual orders in fish. He is fun and very knowledgeable guy who probably knows everybody in this area whohas ever kept fish. Worth the trip to his shop just to get aquanted and you can get just about anything in line of equipment from him. If you have interest in riding together to meetings, contact me off list or if you would just like to chat about fish stuff contact me for that too :-) June on 2/24/03 6:10 PM, Michelle Gregory at anrkeygrrrl@hotmail.com wrote: > Hi everyone, >> I recently moved to the area and I joined GSAS this month during the Plant> Auction > meeting. >> I live in Tacoma and wanted to know if anyone could recommend a LFS in my> area?
