Re: GSAS General Auction Meeting Reminder - Tuesday, April 8th

Hint: I need 5 and 10 gallon tanks, especially 5's though, and LOVE metaframes. Willing to fix metal frame leakers too. Bring lots of metaframes!

Hello fellow GSAS Members!

This reminder is coming to you one week earlier than usual in order to give you that extra time you'll need to plan your auction participation. The GSAS Annual Auction (Tuesday, April 8th) is the primary fund-raiser for our club; and, let's face it - Money Talks. The level of its success determines many things for our club in the upcoming year. For example...
1) The caliber of the speakers that we are able to bring in,
2) The quality of food at the refreshments table,
3) The quality of the door-prizes,
4) The quantity of food at the refreshments table,
5) The ability to do Philanthropy Projects (look for more about this in May),
6) Did I mention the refreshments table?
7) A Flashier Newsletter,
8) and NAME TAGS! - Don't forget name tags! (as well as many other promotional items that are in the works to give our club a real Professional Appearance.)

Now, here's how you can help to make this year's General Auction a great success (and walk away with some cash in your pocket, too)! All CURRENT (i.e. PAID-UP) Members are eligible (and encouraged) to bring items to be sold at the auction - tanks, fish, filters, gravel, heaters, plants, medications, water conditioners, etc. Remember, one man's trash is another man's treasure! Take a look around your Fish-Room and see what you've got "laying around" that you don't want or need any more - new or used. Now, more about that "cash-in-the-pocket" part. When your item sells at the auction, you get 60% of the proceeds and the remaining 40% goes to fund your club for the next year. What a Deal!

Here's some info to help answer those burning questions that you may have.

Q: Will there be Food? (I know where your priorities are :)
A: Yes! June will have the table spread with EXTRA Goodies!

Q: What about large items?
A: No Problem! The Aquarium has a cargo elevator that we can use.

Q: What about heavy items?
A: Again, No Proglem! Clay will be there! (Actually, there's a hand-truck available.)

Q: What's the time schedule?
A: I'm glad you asked...

6:00 The doors open for you to bring items to be sold
6:30 Even if you're not bringing items, come early to Pre-View
7:00 SPECIAL, EARLY Start-time for the meeting - Auction to follow

In addition to all the items that you, the membership, bring to the auction, there will be many brand new items contributed by national manufacturers and our generous local sponsors. You definately won't want to miss this one!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact anyone on the Board. Direct email addresses can be found on our website - www.gsas.org .

See you There!
