Bloodworms are midge fly larvae. In other countries they don't use the name Bloodworms ( how weird ) but refer to them as Red Mosquito Larvae; Rotenmuckenlarven in German, Mosquito rojo in Spanish (I think). I don't think we would have chosen the name Bloodworms if we knew we were going to be selling them one day. Then again, people are getting more afraid of mosquitos now, even though you can't catch anything from a frozen one, nor can they be brought to life again after freezing. I prefer the name Cherrypillar, but I made that one up.
