Thank you Aaron Frymire for the great article on the Bristlenose pleco!
Am wondering if you have any you offspring you want to sell if you could
keep me in mind. I keep looking at this fish at the LFS but they can
never tell me what species they are which is even worse than the fact
that they don't know the fish's age, sex, country of origin, etc, so I
have never bought them. Also do prefer captive bred fish whenever
possible, and don't like hybridization at all.
Also wondering if anyone in our club is breeding one of the new
varieties of algae eating shrimp yet, such as red crystal shrimp.
Supposedly they are quite prolific but are still spendy, and eat a
variety of types of algae. I don't want to drop a bunch of money to get
them shipped here if I can buy locally from a breeder... and get a
species already acclimated to our local water and proven to breed. Or
has anyone seen them at a fish store in the Seattle or Tacoma area? I
seem to be producing a lot of algae the last month or so, definitely
have food for the little buggers... :) Seems like a very useful critter
to have on hand.
