I can trump your rationalization:
What you obviously need to deal with the problem of culls is a large 
marine tank with big fish and anemones. See, if you put culls from 
freshwater in salt they can't spread diseases. And vice versa. Obviously you 
are going to need at least a 150 gallon setup to make this 
effective.
Also makes a great source of premixed brine shrimp hatching solution. Kate The

Leaf fish are cool though...
