Kate- I usually use a magic marker or the like and then remove it with a sharp razor blade. If you experiment around you might also find a pen with ink that is alcohol-soluble. I lucked out this way when I went to remove some graffiti off the side of our building at work- came right off with rubbing alcohol. At the old Blue Heronb Fishery we used what are called "Grease Pencils" and they work like a champ as long as the surface is dry when you start writing. They are like a color crayon but with a base that is slightly more greasy than waxy. They came in a refillable pen or a pencil that was paper rolled where you peeled off paper to expose more writing surface, like with charcoals. I'll bring some for you to try. They are handy for use on plastics where you won't want to scrape to get it off or use solvents; it can be rubbed off with a dry cotton cloth (or your finger for small specks). I'd be interested in some rotifers of each kind, to try growing them. Also a small bit of green water if you have a good species. I raise green water that is pretty good stuff but I'm trying to play around with different kinds that might be more nutritious and not crash as easily. All I'd need is a few drops. I want to be able to write things on my tanks rather than use postits or stickers, just write directly on the glass, but I don't want it to be a pain to clean off (graffiti markers out) or too easy (dry erase).------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please send mail to majordomo@thekrib.com with "Unsubscribe gsas-member" in the body of the message.
