Hubby has four Labidochromis caeruleusla (Yellow Labs) and would like to
get a Neolamprologus pulcher (Blue Daffodil) to put in the 29T that I
*thought* had sprung a leak. We've checked a couple of cichlid
compatability charts, but there's nothing like first-hand experience. Can
anyone here tell me if this is a good combination? Or, would be fatal to
one or more fish?
I wouldn't. Mixing different rift lake fish is always an adventure, and
Yellow labs can be pretty pugnacious. With 4 of them, they're likely to
breed and then the scales would really fly. My preference would be to have a
tanganyika-only tank (with your Neolamps) and a big malawi tank (with yellow
labidos et al). 4 yellow labidos is pretty crowded for a 29 unless you fill
it with rocks and provide tons of hiding places.
My $.02
Matt
