Hi Darcy. Sounds like you've got some colonies of freshwater diatoms growing
in there. I had the same problem in the Mt. St. Vincent nursing home tank
that I take care of, which is acrilic. I get rid of it with a wad of nylon
mesh fabric you can buy at any fabric store. It's cheap, around
$.79 a yard. Doesn't seem to bother the acrilic.
I agree with Susan that a pleco would probably work also. I acquired one
recently and it has made a believer out of me.
