Final update: The last of my potentially female 'scarlet Badis' died yesterday. I think asking for the greyist of fish from the sorting bin just got me damaged, stressed out males from the batch (sigh). Anyway, this was a learning experience. And thanks so much to Steev, who went beyond the call of duty to drive up here to Bothell to collect little dead fish (weak grin). If I try this again (which I'll only do if the vendor starts using Bag Buddies), I'll immediately start treatment with some alternative antibiotics he has recommended. Melafix just didn't do the job this go round. One of these days we'll have at least one pair of these gorgeous little fish in the club, who hopefully with cooperate and make lots of baby 'scarlet Badis'. And I have plenty of eager males here hoping to contribute genes as well! They just started actively taking frozen adult brine shrimp as of yesterday although a couple still have reservations about dead floaty things. They prefer their food still kicking.
