Well, I've been running my 20 gal quarantine tank now for a few weeks, and I
think it is time to take my 3.5 inch marbled angel out of it and put it in my
40 gal tank (I noticed last night the the other occupants of the tank are now
hiding in corners, afraid to eat).
So here is my question. Right now my 40 gal tank is soft & acidic (5d, 6.6ph),
while my quarantine tank is a little over 7 ph, haven't measured hardness. Can
I just transfer the fish directly, or do I need to somehow condition it for the
transfer?
Also, I've got 3 adult Serpae tetras (which I hate) in the 40 gallon tank.
I've heard they can be fin nippers, should I just pull them out & put them in
another tank? I'm setting up a 10 gallon for a 2nd quarantine tank, they could
help establish the biological balance there, & I wouldn't cry if they didn't
make it.
Anita
