Would anyone be interested in some water sprite, water lettuce (the rosette
form) or duckweed? If you give me a heads up, I'll be HAPPY to bring some to
the meeting. They are flourishing in my tanks, & in order for my rooted plants
to receive much of the rather expensive light I am providing, I'm going to have
to either give some away or toss it on my mulch pile. The water lettuce gets
these wonderfully long, sheltering roots and are adored by my gouramis and I'm
sure other shy fishes & fry. The water sprite also provides wonderful shelter,
can also be planted, and grows fast to fill up an empty space. The duckweed is
great if you have herbaceous top-feeders. They are all flourishing in both my
high light tanks, and in the ones getting only 2 watts per gallon. Considering
their growth rate, I think they'd also do well in a low-light tank.
So if anyone is interested, let me know.
Anita
