Okay, yesterday I discovered one of my angels in the corner of the tank, doing
a headstand on the bottom. He looked terrible. I immediately put him into an
isolation tank. Since he seemed to want to eat, I dropped a rich mix tablet in
front of him, and he ate.
Well, this evening he's still doing headstands in the corner, but he's looking
much better overall. Seems to be able to swim out of the headstand and forward
for a bit, but ends up pointing down again within a few seconds. Doesn't seem
as labored in his movements -- but still pointing straight down.
Every other fish in that tank is looking fine. I've been doing 40% water
changes once a week, and using PAT when I do my refill.
We have been having some territorial issues in that tank -- one german blue ram
couple will herd all the angels to the far side of the tank, and within a few
minutes the other couple will herd the angels back (I am setting up a 55 gallon
AS FAST as I can). So the angels are feeling crowded, and are making little
charges at each other, trying to get some elbow room -- they'd have plenty of
elbow room if the rams quit herding them . . . I know, I know. This angel has
actually been reacting with a bit of terror when a ram or another angel starts
to charge him, so I suppose he might have sustained some sort of injury, but
can't see anything.
Any insight, or advice?
Thanks,
Anita
