Re: [GSAS-Member] Pop-eye

I'd love to try it. Don't think I can get to Blue Sierra tonight -- should I
try to lance it tonight, or wait until tomorrow am, when I can also then apply
the medicine.

Maybe Walgreens will sell me a diabetic lancet -- should be skinner than my
sewing needles.

I would just gently poke it with a sterilized pin. There is some fish
medicine for fish eyes at Blue Sierra in Issaquah, I think it's the same
stuff they put in babies eyes of people. I would do the pin poke, then use
the silver nitrate stuff. I almost bought some. I also bought a big jar of
Marcyn 2 antibiotics for eye infections. If you need more, let me know. I
  got 100 tablets.

A couple of my fish have a white dot on there eye. I am wondering if it is a
parasite. I think I will get that eye stuff in Issaquah. Let me know if you
  want to try it too.

  Subject: [GSAS-Member] Pop-eye

One of my two male blue rams has developed a unilateral pop-eye. I moved
him to an isolation tank yesterday & started Marycyn 2. He has now
developed a pocket that is hanging down from his eye, under his eye, that
appears to be filled with a whitish, blood-tinged something. I'm wondering
if that is pus, and if so, is there anyway to drain it? He's not doing
well, he's gotten rather darkish since I moved him.

His mate, who I left in the large tank, has also turned greyish. I'm
wondering if the absence of her mate, and the subsequent bullying she's
getting from the other pair, might be responsible. Should I also move her
  into the isolation tank?

Any responses or suggestions would be appreciated.
