Oh neat about the flowers! I hope you will take pictures of that and the pupfish place! Everyone has noticed how much better fish do if we minimic their natural environment. Why else do we spend so much time and discussion on things like building rock caves? Take note. The following is a testimonial for planted tanks ;-> Many of the species we keep in aquariums come from environments which have lots of vegatation. Those of you who know me, are aware that most of my tanks were heavily planted. I observed that in tanks that were really dense with foliage, ie needed a good prunning, fish from foliated environments that would be shy and skittish in an unplaned tank were seldom so when they had lots of "protection." I think the reason my school of Clown Loaches were so "friendly" was the hollow logs and heavy foliage available to retreat to if they felt threatened. They certainly would "dive" for cover at first approach to tank but then quickly came back out and resummed "playing around" Speaking of heavily foliated environments, I am currently in Death Vally. The wild flower bloom is everything it is reported to be. I have been here several times but never to see fields of flowers for miles on end. After I visit the Pupfish one last time, we head back north. June Olberding on 4/2/05 8:48 AM, auntie.fran@netzero.net at auntie.fran@netzero.net wrote: > That's an interesting observation, John.
