2000 isn't fine enough. It's all hazy. I've been wet sanding, which does a way better job and much faster than sanding it dry. The sand paper is rinsed off, so it doesn't clog up. The 2000 grit would be about the finest I would use, beyond that its similar to rubbing with a cloth and polish. The finer papers also clog up quickly and lose their "bite".
