Hi Susan,Did you try sanding the outside of the tank with those grits? I am interested in knowing if they leave a haze and require some polishing after using them.
You may not see this effect on the inside of the tank, even it is there since the water "hides" it.

Not only did it work verywell, it took the algae off in a flash! I did siphon water out near the worksite to be on the safe side. All fish are fine, and are showing breeding colors as well!
