Cameroon and Trish will be there early today, to help me unload the aquarium and stand for the African fish tonight. Since my landlord won't let me store the aquarium in the garage, I will have it up for sale or trade. It is a 40-gallon acrylic with a blue background, that Frank Tomko gave me, and was originally used as a sump for a saltwater tank; there are 1" holes drilled into it in several areas, which I have neatly patched with squares of clear acrylic, and with acrylic solvent fused them on. I built the stand in way that would hide the holes at the bottom. The stand I built with father and is covered by a birch plywood veneer on three sides, and has a birch door from the Adel kitchen cabinet series from Ikea in the "As Is" department. It matches perfectly, but the catch is that it needs one more Adel cabinet door, and it will be beautiful. It needs two sets of European hinges which will cost $5 or $10 at Ikea. The seams are covered with galvanized steel and screwed every 10 cm. It is very sturdy, "Ikea" looking and is light blonde wood with the silver. It does not leak; I used it for several months before I set-up the 100-gallon I bought from Mark Pearlscott, and then successfully killed all the occupants in a chemical accident, that were supposed to go into the 100-gallon. Only the least expensive fish died, the free Heterandria formosa, one Cory, and the Amano Shrimp. Now I built up my discus population back up in the new tank to four, with some Emporer Tetras instead of Cardinals, to try something different, and the usual cleaning crews of SAE's, Otos, a pleco (Royal Xingu), and a couple more cories. Make me an offer. I would like not to take it back home.
